The wedding of Wanaka Challenge competitors Alyssa Coe and Mark Smoothy went off without a hitch on the shores of Lake Wanaka this evening.
The couple paused for about 20 minutes during the marathon part of the 226km race to take part in a very traditional wedding ceremony, conducted by celebrant Bev Clark, of Wanaka.
The bride, groom and wedding party all wore a specially designed triathlon weddng suit, with Mrs Smoothy adding a light, white skirt to her ensemble for the ceremony.
The couple then set out to complete the final 21km of the Challenge.
