Queenstown volunteers will not miss out on recognition of their efforts by counterparts across Central Otago.
More than 130 volunteers across the Central Lakes district joined Volunteering Central during National Volunteer Week in June to have their efforts recognised.
Volunteering Central hosted a series of celebrations in Alexandra, Cromwell and Wanaka but snow prevented it from reaching Queenstown as planned.
However, a rescheduled celebration will take place at Wakatipu Senior Citizens on August 1, at 11am.
Queenstown Lakes Mayor Vanessa van Uden is expected to personally thank community's volunteers for their efforts and achievements.
Funded by the Central Lakes Trust and established in 2011, Volunteering Central seeks to raise awareness of volunteering in the Central Lakes district and links volunteers to organisations which rely on their efforts.
''It was wonderful to meet so many volunteers from a huge range of organisations during our recent celebrations and we are keen to meet many more at our final event in Queenstown in August,'' senior co-ordinator Gillian White, of Wanaka, said.
''The celebration will give volunteers in Wakatipu the chance to meet each other and learn about the huge range of tasks that are undertaken each week in the area.''
