Two Queenstown companies are the latest casualties of the economic downturn.
A car rental company has gone into liquidation, and an accommodation complex has gone into receivership this month.
Queenstown Autohire Ltd went into voluntary liquidation on Monday. Liquidator Wayne Deuchrass, of Insolvency Management Ltd, said the company's creditors were all secured. It was too early to comment on the company's assets.
Directors Victoria Sergel and Timothy Stringer, of Christchurch, could not be reached for comment.
Stormcat Lodge, an accommodation complex at Arthurs Point Rd, was placed in receivership on Friday.
Stormcat Property Development Trustees Ltd's receiver Duncan Fea, of WHK Cook Adam Ward Wilson, said the lodge was trading as normal and still had tenants.
While it catered for short-term stays, most of the tenants were workers, he said.
It would be "business as usual" until the company's assets could be assessed - the receiver's first report was due on July 19.
One of the company's secured creditors is Dominion Finance Group Ltd, which was placed in receivership last year.
Stormcat's director, Tanya Chapple, could not be reached for comment.
