Tickets went on sale this week for the two-hour show of slapstick comedy and famous one-liners based on the British television series.
Performed on the restaurant floor, the actors interact with diners as much or as little as they want.
Fresh from directing Showbiz Queenstown's production of Les Miserables, Dunedin's Douglas Kamo stars as the miserly misanthropic hotel owner Basil alongside former Queenstowner Victoria Mills, as his acid-tongued wife Sybil, and Danny Still as Manuel, the confused and put-upon waiter from Barcelona.
Mr Kamo said improvised shows were as good as the audience wanted to make them.
He had directed and performed the show for 10 years and the cast had a dozen rib-tickling scenarios to play as backstops.
"Expect the characters to come well and truly to life and expect some pretty hefty belly laughs. It gets messy and out of control, the physical comedy is pretty physical."
The show will be followed by live entertainment from Queenstown singer-guitarist Brett Strachan.
• Tickets cost $60 and are available from the Sky City Casino cashier's desk.
The price includes a three-course dinner during the show, which starts at 7.30pm.
