It is either the worst-kept secret or the best-relayed rumour, but Queenstown is tipped to host the Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand (Trenz) conference next year.
Billed as New Zealand's largest tourism business event, the four-day conference attracts more than 1200 delegates, including 250 tourism operators, 270 international buyers and 60 journalists.
Held at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland for the second consecutive year, Trenz is also regularly held in Rotorua and Christchurch, but that has not stopped speculation Queenstown could be next.
However, industry officials declined to comment over the location of the next annual conference's, telling the Otago Daily Times to wait until the official announcement tomorrow.
