Lake Wanaka Tourism's new general manager is James Helmore, of Queenstown.
Mr Helmore has worked for nzski.com (Coronet Peak and The Remarkables) and more recently was sales and marketing manager at Skyline Gondola Restaurant and Luge.
He begins with the regional tourism organisation on March 30 and will relocate to Wanaka with his wife and two children.
Lake Wanaka Tourism chairman Jon Davies said applications were received from all over the world for the position, vacated recently by former chief executive John Alldred.
"James . . . has long-term industry experience during which time he has developed extremely good networks, both domestically and internationally. He's young, enthusiastic and his people and business skills are exceptional," Mr Davies said.
