About $40,000 was raised at the Browns Sothebys Black On Track Party, on Saturday night, for a charitable trust that supports New Zealand's snowsports stars of the future.
The Snowvision Foundation's voluntary chief executive, Fiona Stevens, told the Queenstown Times she was absolutely thrilled with the result and appreciated the generosity of the Queenstown community.
The money "goes into the capital fund and will help us either develop new grants programmes or help us provide more to the existing ones", Mrs Stevens said.
"It will be used to get as many resources as we possibly can directly to the snowsports athletes."
About 140 Wakatipu supporters and guests from New Zealand's alpine sports fraternity attended the auction night, which was held in the Dalefield home of Snowvision patron Lady Philippa Tait.
Dunedin auctioneer Warwick Grimmer marshalled the bidding, with seven items on the block.
Browns Sothebys International Realty co-partner Mark Harris, of Queenstown, won afternoon tea for four with Prime Minister John Key, for $3800.
Wooden skis dating back to the 1940s, donated by George Pinckney, and a half-day private ski lesson from Nils Coberger, New Zealand ski team coach and three-time Olympic coach to New Zealand, Australian and British ski teams, fetched $3500.
A Mt Torlesse Station hunting, outdoor adventure and accommodation package, donated by the Johnson family and Jucy Rentals, went under the hammer for $2250.
A round of golf for four at The Hills, the exclusive home of the New Zealand Golf Open, went for $1500.
A day of private ski coaching at Coronet Peak and dinner for four with the New Zealand National Ski Team sold for $2500.
A Harris Mountain heli-ski experience and après-ski with Steinlager Edge for two fetched $1700.
Two custom-made pieces of jewellery, by OC Jewellers using black Tahitian pearls from Pounamu Pearl, sold for $3800.
The remainder of the night's proceeds was raised by the silent auction, ticket sales and sponsorships.
Mrs Stevens will present sthe Formthotics Performance Awards at Coronet Peak on September 5.
Scholarships of $2000 each will be presented to the top world-ranking male and female New Zealand ski racers aged over and under 21 years.
