More than 3000 randomly selected householders in the Queenstown Lakes district have received the council's latest annual residents' and ratepayers' survey in their mailboxes.
Respondents are asked to indicate either on the printed survey sheet, or online, their level of satisfaction, or dissatisfaction, with the council's community services, infrastructure, regulatory services, consultation and communication and tourism promotion.
The survey also asks what are the three services the council either needs to improve on, or does not provide but should, and three services the council does well and should continue to provide.
The final ''About You'' section asks how long the recipient has lived in the district, employment status, age group and household income.
The results could feature in the council's annual report in October. Last year, 78.5% of respondents were satisfied, down from 86 % in 2011, 76% in 2010 and 73.1% in 2009.
Wanaka residents were less satisfied last year, while Queenstown and out-of-town ratepayers were the happiest.
