It will feature 15 categories, such as best back and best arm. Organiser Deane Jones, of Queenstown Ink, said that after 17 years tattooing in Christchurch and Queenstown, the opportunity to hold a show in the resort was too good to pass up.
In addition to bringing the community together to reinforce the notion the stigma surrounding tattoos has changed, proceeds from the gold coin door entry will be donated to the Youth Booth.
''These days it's quite different . . . I think it'll be really good for the town,'' Mr Jones said. Queenstown Ink has previously supported charities, with a skate competition and the SPCA having benefited. The show will be held on December 7 at Extreme Sports Bar on Camp St from 1pm.
