Coronet Peak lifties will be acting as matchmakers for the evening, introducing lads and lasses from the blue and pink "singles lines" before sending them on their way up the "Cupid Express" chairlift.
From there, they have a five-minute rendezvous on the lift commonly known as the Meadows Express to get to know each other, before heading back down the slopes to start all over again.
Ski area manager Hamish McCrostie said romance could well be in the air, with the prospect of perfect snow and amazing weather conditions pipping the alternative of looking for love in crowded bars.
"Who knows, under a starlit sky and with the lights of Queenstown twinkling away in the distance, we might just light the fire of a long-lasting relationship or two."
To help those needing a little courage, a free glass of Amisfield bubbles will be given to prospective daters after the free registration.
The concept had previously been loosely applied at the field's T-bar lift, but organiser and head of lift department Cody Stake said the team was hoping to make this year a fully fledged success.
"We are trying to ramp it up this year . . . It's doing something a little bit different, something fun and fresh that makes us stand out from the other resorts."
Extra staff from The Remarkables will arrive to help out with the matchmaking, and were excited about taking part, Mr Stake said.
Those looking for love in a cold climate will have to be over 18 years of age.
Registrations open at 5.30pm and matchmaking will begin at 6pm.
When the night-skiing is done, food and drink specials will be offered at the Coronet Peak base building restaurant.
