The original songwriters' concert, started last year by producers Margaret O'Hanlon and Martin Grounds, proved a success and strong crowds showed for all three nights.
The two musicians share a love for original music artistry and in this year's show, they will each perform their own songs during the vote counting.
As it was last year, the winner will be chosen by audience vote, at a new venue, in the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall, from June 7-9.
In keeping with Queenstown's international flavour, this year's contest includes English, Irish, Brazilian and American entrants.
The winner will receive $1000 in prize money and a chance to record their song and have it played on the radio, just as last year's winner, Queenstown woman Katie McNeill, had done.
Mrs O'Hanlon was pleased with the early interest shown.
"I find it exciting to know that people are already enthusiastic and anticipating the show.
"It's a good feeling."
Tickets are available for $40 at the i-Site building in Queenstown.
The 10 contestants for this year's competition are Lloyd Allen, Holly Arrowsmith, Ruby-Mae Bain, Miki Brown, Marc Hamilton, Dominic Hazell, Eamonn McNicholas, Renata Rubini, Maggie Ruddenklau, and duo Mark Williams and Nicole McLean.
