The Wanaka Rodeo Club will be receiving a special certificate and thanks for the club's support and fundraising efforts over 37 years.
While St John area committee records show the Wanaka Rodeo Club was making donations from 1986, the rodeo club records first refer to its association with the St John Brigade, as it was then known, in 1971.
The annual rodeo is held on January 2 and collects a donation from spectators, which is then met dollar for dollar by the club.
Over the years, the club has donated thousands of dollars to St John, including $6000 for a mobile first aid unit and $5000 towards the station built in 2001.
Wanaka St John area committee chairman Phill Hunt said in a media release the relationship between the two organisations was special, highly valued and would be fittingly honoured by the presentation of the St John Priory Vote of Thanks.
Also being honoured today are Stephanie Still (12 years service medal), Barbara Roxburgh (22 years service medal), Marion Furneaux (32 years service certificate), Kate Ogle, Nobu Nakashima, Jana Truslova, Helen Rule, Philippa Golden, Darren Clay, Paul Kummerow, Brian Cooke (all Certificate of Achievement Primary Care).
