Arts on Tour New Zealand brings the PlayGround Collective's award-winning production The Intricate Art of Actually Caring to Luggate Hall, near Wanaka, on June 28 at 7.30pm.
Described as "a comedy about apathy", actor Jack Shadbolt and actor-playwright Eli Kent, both of Wellington, play versions of themselves who spend their days hanging out in Eli's bedroom until the death of a friend sparks a spiritual journey.
Fact and fiction blur when Eli's bedroom becomes a car, transporting the two young men to New Zealand poet James K. Baxter's grave in remote Hiruharama.
The Intricate Art of Actually Caring won best theatre and enjoyed a three-week sellout season at the 2009 Fringe Awards.
Tickets cost $25 per adult or $10 per student from the Festival of Colour office on Helwick St, Wanaka, or its website.
