Clear blue skies and sunshine were the order of the day at the ski area, where just over 1000 people took the opportunity to get in one last run.
The Remarkables Ski Area manager Ross Lawrence said there was a "fair contingent" who got into the spirit of the closing day - themed "Retro" - with lots of bright coloured ski outfits and straight skis on display.
Mr Lawrence said it had been a "very solid" season at the Remarkables, with the highlight of 2009 being the first day.
"Opening everything on the first day with the amount of snow we had early on and we haven't actually lost any of it.
"It's really fantastic.
"It set the scene for winter," Mr Lawrence said.
