Remarkable Theatre's latest production, Secret Bridesmaids' Business, ended its successful four-show run in the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall on Saturday night. Cast and crew celebrated in the hall afterwards.

Extra seats had to be placed to accommodate patrons on the opening night of the adult-themed comedy drama on Thursday.

Audience numbers were "decent" on Saturday night but fewer on Friday night. However, the company was "pleasantly surprised" by the half-full house for the Saturday matinee, given the fine weather outside, production manager Melanie Grindell said yesterday.

Remarkable Theatre will start holding auditions in October for its next production, to be staged in January.

The show will be staged in the Queenstown Gardens as part of the district-wide Summerdaze Festival and is likely to relate to the 150th anniversary of the discovery of gold in the Wakatipu and Otago, which is coming up next year.
