It is the day most girls dream about but, unfortunately, sometimes things beyond anyone's control leave a couple with wedding day memories they would rather not have.
Enter three Queenstown businesses which have teamed up to help one lucky couple relive their magical day - from dress fittings to hair and make-up, and a photo shoot.
Jackie Gay, of Still Vision Photography, Trudy Munroe, of Nemo Wardrobe, and Deborah Coburn, of Collective Hair, have opened entries for the competition, aimed at local couples willing to share their stories.
Ms Gay said the businesses decided to launch the competition in the lead-up to a "summer of weddings".
"Because we're so busy and it's such a beautiful occasion we decided we wanted to create a competition that gives a lucky couple the opportunity to re-shoot their wedding day, to get those shots they may not have got.
"Not everyone's day is perfect.
"Maybe something sad or bad happened and they didn't get their beautiful shots."
The competition is open to any married couple in Queenstown, regardless of how long it had been since their nuptuals.
The winning couple will have their wedding photos retaken in January, with the bride able to have her dress altered by Nemo, if required.
On the day of the reshoot, a bridal make-over at Collective will get the bride looking picture-perfect before the couple are taken to a "secret location" for the reshooting of wedding photographs.
To enter, Ms Gay said the couple only had to tell their story by emailing stillvision@xtra.co.nz or dropping it in to the Still Vision, Collective or Nemo offices.
Names and contact number should be included, along with a picture of the couple, if possible.
Entries close at 5pm on December 12, with the winner to be announced in the Queenstown Times on December 14.
