An aerial search has begun for a tramper who activated their personal locator beacon in the Glenorchy area this morning.
Senior Sergeant James Ure, of Dunedin police, said a Heliworks Queenstown helicopter with a search and rescue crew aboard left for the area at 12.20pm.
