The Remarkables ski area near Queenstown celebrated the end of the 2015 ski season with a Hawaiian-themed beach party on Sunday.
Making the most of spring conditions, staff donned snorkels, singlets, Hawaiian shirts and board shorts for the party, which featured the annual ''pond skim'' held at the base area on a makeshift pond.
Despite opening a week later than scheduled as finishing touches were made to the field's $23million base building, the Remarkables enjoyed one of its best seasons in years thanks to good, regular snowfall.
Coronet Peak is scheduled to close on Sunday, and Mt Hutt and Cardrona skifields are expected to close on October 11.
