Queenstown becomes part of a joint Qantas-Emirates network on August 14, which includes Australia, Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the United Kingdom, all via Dubai.
The airlines will operate about 130 services per week from Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland to Australian east coast cities, then onwards to the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
Qantas international sales executive manager Stephen Thompson said the partnership would benefit New Zealand travellers and tourism.
