A Dalefield house has set a Queenstown saleprice record after fetching more than $6.4 million.

The sale was confirmed by Luxury Real Estate New Zealand co-director Terry Spice, who said the previous record by a real estate company was set in 2009 at $6.4 million but he could not say what the new record was.

The property is the 700sq m White Shadows Country Inn, a 10-year-old fivebedroom and five-bathroom house on 3.7ha located on Hunter Rd below Coronet Peak.

Mr Spice said there were ‘‘a lot of quality buyers'' interested in the property, owned by Mike Harris and Bill Bailey.

Mr Spice said the buyer was a New Zealander.
