Friday, January 8
5pm:
Chilled-out Summer Sessions, featuring live local talent, begin at Earnslaw Park today and continue entertaining residents and visitors every Friday and Saturday evening, and Sundays, from noon to 10pm, as part of the Summerdaze Festival.

The Cartel and The Black Spots are some of the Wakatipu acts pencilled in to perform at the series of free concerts this month.

10pm: Jay Spectre, a hip-hop acoustic folk outfit from Toronto, play Revolver as part of their first tour of New Zealand.

The five musicians will be playing tracks from their second album Too Little Too Much. Entry $10 at the door.

10pm: Mr Feet vs Turbohag, with Taos MC Davie.

Hip-hop funk and junglism galore at Subculture.

Saturday, January 9
10pm:
Subculture hosts the funk breaks jungle night known as Concrete Jungle, with resident D-Jade and special guests Matix, of Wanaka, and Backdrop, of Arrowtown.

Tuesday, January 12
Noon:
Wakatipu musicians entertain at the Free Tunes on Tuesday concert at Earnslaw Park.

8pm: Award-winning alumni of the Queenstown Violin Summer School perform a dazzling and sophisticated programme at St Peter's Anglican Church.

Tickets $20 adult, $10 student at the door.

Wednesday, January 13
4.30pm: Queenstown Violin Summer School Masterclasses are open to the public at St Peter's Church and Hall from today until Friday, then from next Monday to Thursday. 8pm: The school's "casual concerts" begin today until Friday, then Tuesday and Wednesday.

Gold coin donation for both masterclasses and casual concerts.
