Grass has been grown on almost 2000sq m of land, which used to be covered with gravel, in front of the freshly-painted pavilion, in a $13,000 contract with the Roading Company, which began in March.
Since April 12, stage two of the upgrade has involved the provision of 28 sealed car parking bays, including one for disabled users, and a bus turning area.
There is a grassed overflow parking area southeast of the new car park.
Permanent marquee anchor points were installed beside the pavilion to double the capacity of the 50-seat building.
The entire facility is expected to re-open to the public on June 10, six days later than predicted because of poor weather, Mr Engelke said.
