Two former employees have won a claim for unpaid wages and expenses against a Queenstown architect by the Employment Relations Authority.
Alister Brown and Katrina Dravitzki were employed by Architecture DM (Queenstown) Ltd from June 2 to December 9, 2008.
They lodged a claim to the authority for arrears of wages and expenses against the company.
The company director, David McLeod, also lodged an application seeking damages against Mr Brown and Ms Dravitzki for breaches of their contracts by engaging in private business.
Philip Cheyne, of the Employment Relations Authority, ruled that Mr Brown and Ms Dravitzki were owed $3453.84 each for salary and holiday arrears, and $4578.64 for reimbursement of office expenses.
Mr Cheyne dismissed Mr McLeod's claim the pair excessively used a company car and two claims the pair solicited work for themselves while in his employment.
The pair set up their own firm after working for Mr McLeod.
But the authority ruled the pair diverted another client to their own business and were ordered to pay their previous employer $2250.
