An update on activities affecting the outdoors community and workshops on safety, marketing and communications are on the agenda when the Outdoors New Zealand Roadshow rolls into Queenstown next week.
The roadshow will travel to nine centres around the country, including the Mercure Queenstown hotel on Tuesday.
The day will be divided into two sessions. The morning session will inform participants on the state of play with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment safety audit standard and the audit scheme.
A Skills Active presentation on ''Outdoor Qualifications Pathway'' and an adventure activities update were programmed, along with updates on Outdoors New Zealand projects, the Outdoor Sector Planning Forum and the Outdoor New Zealand strategic plan.
The first draft of the Value Proposition Outdoor Recreation Report will be tabled and updates from key community stakeholders will be heard.
The afternoon session will offer a choice of two workshops - ''safety management systems'' and ''effective social media strategies''.
Matt Cowie, relationship manager at Skills Active, and a Mountain Safety Council regional representative were expected to speak at both the Queenstown roadshow and at its next stop the day after, the Mercure Dunedin.
• The morning session is free; the afternoon session costs $50. The roadshow is open from 9am-4.30pm. Spaces are limited to 40 people at each location.
