Open to the public

One of the biggest open home operations in Queenstown's history will take place this weekend as Bayleys Queenstown opens the gates to the exclusive Threepwood development, off State Highway 6 at Ladies Mile.

Developer Jim Boult has decided to allow "limited and controlled access" to the 200ha site, by way of guided tours, before owners begin to move in.

"Part of Threepwood will be a gated community, so, in future, members of the public will only be allowed in by residents' invitation.

"But I think it's good for Queenstowners and visitors to get the chance to understand exactly what's going on out here," Mr Boult said.

Threepwood features 42 lots over the 200ha, with prices for home sites beginning at a "limited offer" of $750,000.

The most expensive section in the development had a price tag of $2 million, located in a "unique position" with views of Lake Hayes and optimal sun exposure.

The biggest lot in the development was 13,129sq m, but that section was part of the subdivision and not for sale at the moment.

Bayleys principal Wayne Cafe said the development was spread over a variety of "impressive terrain".
