Pub On The Wharf is seeking about 14 bar and floor staff, two or three kitchen hands and two cleaners for the new watering hole at Steamer Wharf.
The recruitment drive starts at 9am and runs until 2pm on site.
Staff will work with newly employed managers Phil Williams, who previously managed the Pig and Whistle, Guilty bar and Monty's Bar and Restaurant, and James Apicella, who managed Red Rock bar and cafe and set up the Whisky Room.
Pub On The Wharf is being fitted out and will have a soft opening on August 21, followed by a "two-week anniversary", general manager Chris Buckley told the Queenstown Times.
"We're not going down the road of another cocktail bar, we're not jumping on anyone's coat-tails.
"There's no target market - anyone who walks past is a potential customer and there's plenty of people walking past this site."

The Buckley family owns Tavern Harewood, in Christchurch, and Mr Buckley said he wanted to create a similar "nice, casual, relaxed atmosphere" in the Queenstown bar.
"A Kiwi pub you don't have to get dressed up for... Predominantly Macs on tap and Steinlager on tap, and Speight's bottles, with $20 max for main dishes."
Outdoor seating under umbrellas and heaters will be provided for about 30 customers.
There will be space inside the main bar area for two-to-three person musical acts to perform on a regular basis in due course.
The pub will be open from breakfast until late.
