Perfect Woman competition organiser Hannah Jones (24) is waiting for the traditional last-minute stampede of women keen to compete in the Labour Weekend event in Wanaka.

Eighteen women have entered so far and Ms Jones is hoping for 30. Using a chain saw is just one of the tests competitors will be confronted with, but unlike last year they will not have to skin a newborn lamb.

Ms Jones said however, as in all the previous competitions, the 10 finalists would have to skin ''something''.

The winner this year will have the choice of a $1000 cash first prize or a pallet of beer - delivered.
