Men's behaviour 'disturbing'

Queenstown police want to speak to three men in their 30s who followed two 15-year-old girls in the resort on Saturday afternoon.

One of the men allegedly made ''a provocative lip-licking gesture'' and took a photo of one of the teenagers on ''an iPad-type device''.

Acting Sergeant Brian Fitzgerald said the girls made a complaint to police around 1.30pm about the men's behaviour.

Sgt Fitzgerald said the girls alleged they were followed from O'Connells shopping centre and sought refuge in a shop on Beach St.

The girls spoke to a shop assistant who followed one of the men out of the shop.

''He had a photo of one of the girls on his iPad-type device.

''He turned it [the iPad] on as he walked out.''

Sgt Fitzgerald said while the men had not committed a crime, police wanted to talk to them.

''Licking your lips and taking photos is no offence ... but their behaviour is disturbing.''

Police had descriptions of the men, who would have been captured on CCTV cameras.
