Sunstrike is believed to be the cause of a car crash on Frankton Rd yesterday morning.

A Queenstown woman, travelling with two young children towards Frankton, crashed into the back of a trailer on Frankton Rd about 9.30am.

Constable Hugh O'Reilly said the woman told police she had been blinded and did not see the trailer or cones marking road works.

"The road was closed to one lane briefly, but we were able to reopen it again pretty quickly," he said.

No-one was injured in the crash.

A 30-year-old Queenstown man was charged with assaulting a female at a Frankton Rd house at 10.30pm on Monday.

He will appear in the Queenstown District Court.

An 18-year-old man was charged with wilful damage after a side door of Altitude Bar on Shotover St was broken at 10.30pm on Monday.
