Auckland's Jaden Leeming was just glad to be on dirt, especially Queenstown dirt, last week.

The BMX rider was in the resort practising at the Gorge Rd Jump Park for the 2014 Farm Jam, to be held in Otapiri Gorge, near Gore, on Saturday.

The 20-year-old was full of praise for Queenstown.

''It's amazing. I'm thinking about moving down because it's so good for biking.''

The sponsored rider said riders travelled from around the world to experience what Queenstown had to offer.

He praised the Gorge Rd park.

''The guys down here have been putting so much work into it.''

More than 3000 spectators braved wintry conditions for the event, which featured FMX, BMX and mountain bike dirt jumping.

Leeming did not win a placing in the event.
