This weekend's first NZ House & Garden Tours Queenstown event has sold out, to the benefit of the Cancer Society of New Zealand and Look Good Feel Better charities.

The country's largest national charity house and garden tour gives people the chance to look inside some of the country's most spectacular homes and gardens.

Now in its fourth year nationally, organisers expect to raise a record amount of more than $300,000 from the Auckland, Christchurch, Kapiti Coast and Queenstown events.

More than 1000 tickets were sold for tomorrow's Queenstown Lakes tour, which features 12 homes, many never opened to the public.

Proceeds will be given to the local divisions of the Cancer Society of New Zealand and Look Good Feel Better, according to where ticket buyers live.
