Fresh from headlining England's Glastonbury Festival with Gorillaz, one-third of pioneering hip-hop group De La Soul takes in Queenstown as one of only three national tour dates.

DJ Maseo, also known as Vincent Mason and as a producer and rapper, will spin classics from his 30-year career at Revolver, on Thursday, August 19.

The Brooklyn star gets the party started with support from DJ Sumosui, DJ Mikey and A-list.

Pre-sale tickets cost $15 from Quest stores and Cosmic Corner, or $20 on the door. R18.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 10
> 8.30pm: Serbian-French comedy Life is a Miracle (2004), about Serbian engineer's attempts to build scenic tourist railway in a war zone, screened to Queenstown Film Society members, Dorothy Brown's Cinema and Bar, Arrowtown. New members can sign up on the night.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12
> 8pm: Fifth annual Queenstown Adventure Film Festival opens at Queenstown Memorial Hall; runs until Monday, August 16. Tickets available Queenstown i-Site, Queenstown Events Centre, TicketDirect.
