A two-for-one ticket deal is being offered for the Fat Freddy's Drop concert in the Queenstown Memorial Hall tonight as part of the 2011 Queenstown Jazzfest, which launched last night.
Queenstown JazzFest spokesman Luke Baldock yesterday said the offer online through Ticketek and the i-SITE Visitor Information Centre. It was "fantastic value" at $70 for two people, he said.
"Fat Freddy's Drop is one of New Zealand's top bands and we're delighted to have them as our headline act this year.
They're not to be missed," Mr Baldock said.
Organisers were warning residents and visitors not to leave ticket buying to the last minute as they were seeing an upswing in bookings for the ticketed events.
Mr Baldock said he was expecting large crowds at the Jazz Stage on Earnslaw Park on Sunday for a feast of free music from noon onwards.
"It will be the perfect prelude to what we hope will be a night of great rugby with New Zealand taking on France in the Rugby World Cup final. People can come down and enjoy some great music right through until 7pm, then head off for dinner before taking in the game somewhere."
Workshops called Mix with the Masters, featuring JazzFest performers, will take place in the Queenstown Resort College on Saturday with a cost of $20 per workshop. Bookings were advised. Tickets are available from:
