Young people in the Wakatipu have a host of activities to choose from in the autumn holiday programme announced by X-it Youth Centre.
The centre will be open as usual every weekday after Easter Monday but with the extended hours of 1pm to 6pm.
X-it features air hockey, table tennis, pool, computers, internet, a communal guitar, a DVD projector, PlayStation 2, arts, crafts and sports equipment.
The holiday programme starts in earnest on Monday, April 20, with a skateboarding workshop in Arrowtown run by the professionals from Alta, followed by a movie session on the big screen at X-it.
Tuesday, April 21, will involve a scenic walk to Skyline for an afternoon of luge racing and a gondola ride.
On Wednesday, April 22, there will be a trip to Have A Shot, in Wanaka, for crazy golf, rifle shooting and archery.
On offer on Thursday, April 23, is ice skating at the Queenstown Fun Centre followed by a movie at X-it.
Finally, on Friday, April 24, the group will go paint-balling in Cromwell.
Youth worker Stephen Ward said he hoped the activities would give young people the chance to do activities they enjoyed and discover new pursuits.
"We hope they meet some new folk from in and around Queenstown and make new friends.
"There's also the opportunity to nail the youth workers with paint balls on Friday if they wish."
Interested youngsters can register for the programme with Mr Ward or fellow youth worker Fi Sawers at the Stanley St centre. Registration forms require a guardian's signature and there is a nominal fee for activities.
The holiday programme is for 13- to 20-year-olds. Members will receive a $2-$5 discount on the price of activities.
