Heavy overnight rain has forced a change in location for the Town Meets Country day, part of the Arrowtown 150 celebrations.
Co-ordinator Julie Hughes said the day, featuring static and steam displays, stage coach rides, vintage cars and old fashioned fun and games had been scheduled for Millbrook Coroner.
Given the soggy ground conditions the event had been moved to the Millbrook Resort grounds, accessed through the main Millbrook driveway on Malaghans Rd.
Meanwhile, on the banks of the Arrow River this morning the New Zealand Gold Panning Championships have just begun, with the finals scheduled for 3pm.
The Black Powder Club will be firing old fashioned guns at 12.30pm, signposted from the gold panning championships and later this afternoon Jazz on the Green, part of the Queenstown JazzFest will be performed on Buckingham Green from 2pm ahead of the Buckingham Belles Miners Night in the Athenaeaum Hall from 7.30pm.
