Lead actor Max Gunn (17, left front) as Danny Zuko and some of the cast from the Wakatipu High School production of the musical Grease make sure their scenes are picture and pitch-perfect ahead of tomorrow's opening night at the Queenstown Memorial Hall. The show, which including the cast, band and back-stage crew, involves about 60 people, runs for four nights.

Director Kate Moetaua said, with costumes, lighting and stage set fully operational, the production was looking "awesome" ahead of opening night, the cast were "great" and nerves among the pupils were minimal.

"I think they are probably a bit tired and excited at the moment. It's quite good to have a few in there who have had quite a lot of experience. It's good to have them as leaders."
