The Vicar of Wakatipu, Dr David Coles, said about $2000 of the provisional total was made from baked goods, with the balance from sales of "elegant junk, toys, bling" pickles, preserves, sausages, plants and second-hand books, CDs and DVDs delighting hundreds of bargain-hunters who browsed around the stalls.
"We made the five figures. We had good crowds but the rain slowed things a bit - but it wasn't too bad because maybe people who would have gone and played golf may have come here instead," Dr Coles said.
"It's been a good spirit and good community engagement and we're pretty happy with that and we appreciate the support," he said.
