There will be fewer car parks outside Wakatipu High School after the Queenstown Lakes District Council decided to remove two parks on Gorge Rd to stop congestion.
The high school had written to the council asking for the removal of four parking spaces next to the school because vehicles parked in the area were obscuring the sight lines for other vehicles exiting the premises.
The council decided it would remove two to begin with and review the effect in six months.
Time restriction options were discussed, but it was decided this would be too hard to police.
