Future of parking warden unknown

The fate of Lakes Environmental Wanaka parking warden Daryl Taylor remained in limbo last night after a meeting yesterday to hear a complaint about his conduct, made by the acting editor of the Wanaka Sun.

Tim Brewster declined to comment yesterday other than to confirm he had met Mr Taylor and Lakes Environmental chief executive Hamish Dobbie.

Mr Taylor said he was on "tenterhooks" waiting to hear back from his manager, but he could not discuss what had occurred at the 11am meeting.

Mr Dobbie said he would not be commenting to the media on an employment matter.

"If it is appropriate later on to make a comment, we will make one at that time."

Mr Brewster complained about Mr Taylor after the parking warden went to the newspaper office to complain about a published photograph of his work vehicle parked incorrectly.
