The impending close of the ski season is not stopping the action at the Remarkables skifield, with the country's first snowboard-wakeboard crossover event and the Bikinis for Breast Cancer fundraiser both taking plave on Saturday.
First, and with all proceeds going to Queenstown's Bruce Grant Youth Trust, the Twin Powers boarding event begins with a slopestyle competition at The Remarkables and then shifts to wakeboarding in Queenstown Bay.
Briefing is at 8.30am, with practice runs between 9am and 10am and competition beginning at 10am. After the boarding is complete, the first bus to Queenstown Bay departs at 11.30am, with the wakeboarding competition starting at 1pm.
Raising money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, The Remarkables will later that day play host to the Bikinis for Breast Cancer fundraiser.
In the skiing and boarding event, participants wearing a bikini top and snow pants will parade their way down the all-abilities course in an "S" formation.
Open to skiing, boarding and Telemark skiing females of all ages, the event requires participants to register in advance, with a minimum of $75 in pledges required by Saturday.
The field wants participants to raise as much as possible and has prizes for top fundraisers.
Registration is between 9am and 11.45am. Participants will get a 50% lift pass discount on the day.
Racing will start at the top of the Alta chair at 1pm.
Held as part of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a Bikinis for Breast Cancer event will also be run at Mt Hutt on October 8.
