Yet again the Wakatipu community has shown its generosity, helping raise an estimated $30,000 at the Queenstown Primary School fair, which principal John Western described as a "stellar" day.
"The weather played its part, we got an incredibly big turnout from our community, the biggest crowd on record. It was a lovely community day."
Featuring fire engine, pony, bike and Harley Davidson rides alongside a chocolate wheel, raffles, a silent auction and a white elephant stall - to name but a few of the attractions - funds raised at the fair on Saturday will go towards a variety of school projects.
The money will be used for two new kitchens in the school hall extension and the focus on "heavy investment" in technology would continue.
Funds were also earmarked for landscaping and enhancement around the school grounds.
"We're incredibly fortunate to have a hardworking and active PTA," Mr Western said.
The fair was also a great showcase for the school's performing arts with items by the kapa haka group, singing groups and several rock bands.
