Their ''Near & Far(r)'' programme includes Mozart's String Quartet No. 1, the colourful Eight Chinese Folk Songs by Zhou Long, Debussy's passionate String Quartet and the fun and funky Mondo Rondo by New Zealander Gareth Farr.
Founded in 2004, the quartet is known for its passionate musicality, impressive technique and multicultural innovation. Two members of the quartet also play in the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
The Aroha String Quartet plays in the Queenstown Memorial Centre at 6pm. Tickets cost $25/$15/$50 from Eventfinder online, or at the door.
