The Passion 4 Fashion show is launching a competition for new designers this year.
Competition co-ordinator Terzann Elliott said 10 new designers would be selected to present on the catwalk at the annual Wanakafest in October.
"The event is aimed at young `un-signed' designers who are asked to go wild and create a visual spectacle," she said.
The fashion show would show collections from local boutiques, invited New Zealand designers, and those from the Wanaka Design Pioneers competition.
The show is a non-profit project, with proceeds going back into the community.
Invited design labels include Zambesi, A La Robe, and Mu By Design. Ms Elliott will show her own brand, Lady Knuckles.
Entrants in the New Designers competition must submit drawings and register by September 12. Finalists will be named on September 15 and garments will need to be with organisers by October 12.
Anybody not working as a designer for a fashion house or trading as a brand can enter.
