Alongside a rejuvenation of Kingston, the relaunch of the Kingston Flyer is already bringing in more business, with Queenstown's Heli Tours flying trips to the vintage steam train at the weekend.
Heli Tours director Paul Mitchell said the company would like to assist the Flyer and the community by bringing more passengers to Kingston.
"We're very keen to help them out, as everyone benefits, not just Kingston Flyer and Heli Tours - there's the staff and the community as well."
He took his hat off to new owner David Bryce for getting the Flyer back up and running.
"The response was just overwhelming ... people really have passion for the steam train."
