On Thursday, Countdown is due to finally open its Queenstown doors at the Five Mile retail centre.

The four buildings in stage one of that development - housing Briscoes, Rebel Sport, Warehouse Stationery, Number One Shoes and Dick Smith Electronics - were handed to the clients on September 30, with businesses expected to open this month.

Five Mile is one example of work under way around the Frankton Flats, including major improvements to State Highway 6 between Five Mile and Glenda Dr.
