Film festival heralds adventure

Tickets are now available for the fifth annual Queenstown Adventure Film Festival, which opens on Thursday, August 12, at the Queenstown Memorial Hall.

Inspiring independent short films depicting adrenaline-fuelled sports on land, water and above, plus adventurous travel tales and spotlights on remote cultures and topical environmental issues from all corners of the world are anticipated as the programme continues to be finalised.

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Fernando Aragones, an artist described as combining the funky rhythms of his native Brazil with the acoustic folk rock of home on the Australian coast, returns to the festival to perform.

Doors open at 7.15pm and the two-hour showcase starts at 8pm, with a 20-minute intermission.

Single-session tickets cost $25 for adults and $18 for children, plus booking fees.

A double pass for the short-film and long-film sessions costs $46 for adults and $32 for children, plus booking fees.

The Queenstown Adventure Film Festival runs from August 12 to 16.
