Everyone is welcome at the annual Combined Churches Carol Service, on the grounds of St Peter's Church, in Queenstown, today, at 6pm.
On Monday, a concert of Christmas carols by the Queenstown Community Choir will be held in the St Peter's Parish Hall, starting at 7pm.
The Rt Rev Dr David Coles told the Queenstown Times the churches were encouraging people to bring a cushion, or a blanket, and a picnic tea for tonight's carol service.
A nativity scene will be set up, complete with bale of straw.
Entry is free to Monday's concert. However, there will be a gold-coin collection for the work of Christian World Service to help people out of poverty and ill health in the poorest places in the world.
