Windblown embers from a rubbish fire sparked a vegetation blaze near Arthurs Point yesterday.
Crews from Frankton and Queenstown and a Fulton Hogan water tanker attended the fire on Littles Rd, which burned an area of about 60sq m.
The fire led to the closure of the road for a period while the fire was contained.
Queenstown Fire Brigade Senior Station Officer David Christie said the fire on land owned by Wood Lot Properties was caused by the wind picking up rubbish fire embers on a neighbouring property, for which there was a fire permit.
