When Canadian Raffella Manni leapt from a plane yesterday for a tandem skydive, she had no idea she would receive a marriage proposal just after she landed.

[comment caption=Do you have a romantic proposal story?]The 26-year-old, from Guelph, Ontario, has been studying in Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast with her boyfriend, Mark Alton (27).

While in Australia, they met fellow Ontarians Jenny Bas and Tyler Rumball and decided to have a holiday in New Zealand.

Mr Alton had been quietly contemplating how best to ask Ms Manni to marry him - with a little help from his friends.

The couple have been dating for two and a-half years and Mr Alton got the "all clear" from his new fiancee's parents two weeks ago.

Ms Manni had one word for the unusual proposal, which she accepted: "Perfect".
