Doc upgrades campsite and car park

The Department of Conservation (Doc) Wakatipu is upgrading the Lake Sylvan campsite and Bobs Cove car park in the third year of its three-year works programme to improve public facilities used by the large number of visitors to Queenstown.

Twelve Mile Delta was the first site to be upgraded and is now used by more than 400 people a night over the Christmas and New Year period.

Its popularity was also due to the extensive track network surrounding Twelve Mile Delta, which included the Bobs Cove, Crichton Loop, Moke Lake and Lake Dispute tracks.

The Moke Lake campsite was revamped last year and was also well used by campers last summer.

The Mt Crichton Track car park, Wilson Bay toilets and the Seven Mile Creek amenity area were also upgraded.
